Assurance is a blessed thing.
With what can it compare?
Its root is grounded deep in hope,
Our footing when we dare.
Dare to look towards more
Than this earthly life can hold.
Belief there is a God,
And belief in what He’s told.
A better hope for tomorrow,
And for trials that do not last.
A God of Truth, a God of love,
A God that holds us fast.
We lie in peace at night;
We don’t fear the light of day.
We hold joy in our heart’s depth,
Which grounds us when we pray.
We trust Him with our life,
We let Him move us at His will.
This is the blessed Assurance
That God alone can fill.
Our cup, it will run over
To fill another’s need.
To raise their hope,
And dash their doubts,
Water their planted seed.
Trust God alone to provide;
He’ll lift you up on high.
You’ll never be disappointed
When those troubles, they draw nigh.
For He alone plans good,
And Has the best for us in mind.
For the times that we are in,
For the times that we are blind.
Oh blessed assurance,
Come down, make home with us.
Our hope is high for what’s in store,
Come move these feet towards Love.

Proverbs 3:5-6 Trust in the Lord with all thine heart, and lean not upon thine own understanding: In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.
Colossians 2:2-3 That their hearts might be comforted, being knit together in love, and unto all riches of the full assurance of understanding, to the acknowledgment of the mystery of God, and of the Father, and of Christ; In whom are hid all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.
