Elementary

Father, I praise You
That we are fearfully,
Wonderfully made!
A heartfelt request
I lay at Your feet this day.

Many with skills
Often lose an opportunity;
Are hindered from jobs
Their skills could meet.

Due requirements set forth
That only see
The need for “paper,”
The need for a degree.

Certificate of degree

I hear, “Yes,
Let us more education invest!”
Whilst destitute,
Outside their gates doth rest
Women, children, and men,
Poor and a hungered!
Odd that colleges fill,
Yet mercy is numbered.

Father, Your Word says
The Spirit will teach us
All we need to know,
And not just about Jesus.

I feel when it comes
To jobs-a-seeking,
Systems here
Need an Almighty tweaking.
Barely a budge
Do they much give
To those whose hopes
On budget live.

Dampened spirits
Cry to You from afar
Father, You hear them,
Know who they are.
Oh, Alpha, Omega,
Namer of stars,
Lift them up high,
Bear them in Your arms!

For there are other ways to go,
Higher thinking, pathways to hope.
Some are ways written
That be of old.
There is nothing new
That has not been told.

We are each unique,
Absorb differently:
Some by ears, some by see.
Some by hands, some by feet.
Some by inward eyes digest,
Some by Spirit manifest.

I also pray
For the companies now
In which many employees
Put their “shoulders to plow.”
Yet, they are by-passed
When inside jobs open.
Two-year degree or more,
Is the spoken notion.

I pray they lift up that employee,
That applicant who’s true.
Of whom in their gut
Meets needs, yet to education new.

Let them stop limiting
Those who
From the pool are viewed.
As lacking in paper,
Yet the answer true.

We talk about non-discrimination,
Yet many eyes see
The piece of paper
That sends out a different decree.

A softening of rules could You plea
To those who higher up may be?

No longer let
Them without eyes lead.
Open their eyes
To see people’s need!

Lord, I pray this day
You will put to action
My heartfelt request,
With no subtraction.

In the name of Jesus, I do pray,
And that You, dear Lord,
Have the glory this day.

Psa 139:14 I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; marvelous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well.
1Jn 2:27 But the anointing which ye have received of him abideth in you, and ye need not that any man teach you: but as the same anointing teacheth you of all things, and is truth, and is no lie, and even as it hath taught you, ye shall abide in him.
