Prayer

Prayer is a lovely thing!
An abundance of blessings
You’ll find it brings.

Oh, to converse
With the Master of Hope,
As He prompts you forward
With things He knows.

So Holy,
This glimpse of divine.
To be as one
With the Author of Time.

To lift
And be lifted up.
To change a life,
And evil disrupt.

What better chance
Can we now know?
To walk with Him,
To with Him go?

Such a pleasant
And heartfelt task.
To Him implore,
And mercies ask.

Black and cream image man kneeling and praying and looking heavenward

Where all parties
Are richly blessed.
As we to Him
Our prayers request.

Such fellowship
In untold ways!
As we to Him
By Jesus, claim.

Answered prayers
Draw nigh to hope.
Quiet times
With the Lord evoked.

As peace and joy
Do come and settle,
Ties that bind
Stronger than metal.

We pray to a God
Who makes our heart His abode,
And takes quite seriously
Our thoughts to Him flowed.

So gather up courage,
Pray big, and hope more.
But don’t slack on prayers,
Cause prayer is not a chore.

It’s an act of humbleness
By seeking His will,
And believing assuredly
Those prayers He’ll fill.

Ask in the name
Of Christ, His only Son.
It’s how victory is achieved,
And how the battle will be won.
