Your Tutor

Where do we go?
Where do we turn?
When life is tried
And rest we yearn.

Do we go it alone?
Or is there someone
Who would guide us close
To God the Son?

He will guide you
And meet you there.
Erase your pain
And ease your fears.

I tell you truth
As I have seen.
He died for you,
On you He’s keen.

His language will be plain
And clear to thee.
When heart He guides,
Heart, He meets.

Start with the seeking,
And believing He is.
Trust will then come,
And truth that He Lives.

Then, perhaps,
An easing of doubts;
An inner peace
That stands without.
Then Loss of fear,
Shrinking of self.

Don’t be alarmed
If an affliction does pass.
He’s with you still,
Your hand He holds fast.

Time will go by,
And yet you may not know
What’s in your future,
And what is your role.

The road is narrow,
And often faced
With trials tried
In fires of grace.

So, won’t you give
The Lord a chance
To light your fire,
To guide your dance?

He knows your soul
And beckons you in.
To be your tutor,
Come learn from Him.

Stick figure sitting at a desk in a drwan schoolhouse

Find comfort now,
My friend, in Him.
His back is not turned,
He’s invited you in.
